Dear Ambassadors and Friends,

It is that time of year that we evaluate our accomplishments and look toward the improvements that we hope to make. We want to thank all of you for your friendship and participation with our expedition. We have enjoyed hosting many of you at Blue Rock and we look forward to meeting those of you who have yet to visit us in beautiful Sonoma. We were thrilled to be on the road this year and to be hosted so kindly by many of you in your homes. It was a special treat to meet your friends and to be offered the opportunity to introduce them to our wines. Thank you!

I am often asked how we differentiate ourselves from the many hundreds of other wineries. I answer that we have a strong and recognizable DNA because we have been consistent with our values for more than 35 years. We don’t chase fads or seek critical acclaim. We are open to change, yet we like who we are and prefer to make incremental refinements.

We think of Blue Rock as much more than a winery. Rather, it is a lifestyle that respects the traditional values of hard work, dedication to improvements, respect for the land, and an appreciation for the workers and customers who make our achievements possible. Of course, much of our effort goes into the farming and winemaking, knowing that the wines are all important. Having said this, our appreciation for food, art, and hospitality are not far behind.

One of our values is to be a great value. We don’t desire to be a cult winery and to price our wines out of the reach of most wine consumers. We want you to drink and enjoy our wines with your friends and family. The Baby Blue wines are your daily drinkers while the Estate wines are also priced to give you pleasure without pain.

We also value the environment and have deep concerns about the future. We know that farming and winemaking use a great many resources. Therefore, we are examining our impact and taking every practical initiative to reduce our carbon footprint. Rather than talking in generalities, we plan to publish a document that lists both our accomplishments and future plans in order to be transparent.

I would like to end by extending an invitation to your family, friends, and you to visit us in 2023. Please take advantage of our hospitality, book a tasting and lunch, or stay in “The Vintner’s Cottage”. Have a healthy and prosperous 2023.
